Classroom Goals for our Chippy's * Have Fun!!! Really, it's so important to have fun while learning! * Foster a sense of curiosity and a desire to learn. * Begin to foster independence in; self care, meal times, dressing (outdoor and snow clothes) by providing children with consistent directions and showing patience when learning new skills. * Begin to teach predictability in classroom schedule, routines, daily activities with the use of visual schedules and reminders. * Begin teaching feelings & emotions by labeling how each child feels in the moment; utilizing books and emotion picture cards.
“Let the child be the guide and respect spontaneity when appropriate and safe.” These are two things we really try and implement when we are working in the Chipmunk classroom. Children love to learn on their own even at this young age and watching them is truly spectacular and to see their confidence sky rocket in their abilities is a feeling of pure joy!
